Progression Between Grades Or Between Steps Within The Same Grade

When they have completed a specified length of service with at least a decent way, permanent workers below the tenth step of their class are usually qualified to step increments. In a typical progression one year, two years and 52 months (one year) are elapsed between the steps of 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4. Then, up to 104 months (two years) occur between steps 4-5, 5-6, and 6-7. Finally after that, the 156 weeks (three years) occur between the steps of 8-9, 7-8 and 9-10, till the last step is reached at the 10th step. A “quality step increase” (“QSI”) can, on contrary, could be awarded to an employee in recognition of exceptional job performance. A QSI raises the employee one step within-grade, regardless of the amount of time they spent at the previous step. If an QSI is granted that date, the QSI is then the date of the beginning for the next step increase, which (if further step increases are given in accordance with the normal procedure) will reduce the time it takes for employees to be able to take the last step within a grade.
